Do you find Music Therapeutic?

Yes. I listen to it everyday.

Why did you start Foreign Skin?

Foreign Skin started after I bought Ableton and started messing around with electronic music / sampling.

Tell us about your plans for 2015?

Ill hopefully be working on my EP. And making big decisions as to where I want to go with my sound and how I want to get that out.

Do you think there is stigma towards Mental Health?

There probably is. But again it depends on what sort of Mental issue you are talking about. But overall yes I think there is.

How important do you think Well Being is?

Well being is definitely important. As my dad said balance is important and if you incorporate balance into your life you’ll be happier.

Do you think The Arts can be a great tool to relieve Mental Health Illness?

Most definitely. Before at school I actually was interested in doing Music Therapy. I think music is like a world language and everybody can connect with it no mater their background or language. And definitely think its a tool that should be used more in practices related to mental health.

Has creativity helped you through a difficult time?

Yes. I see being creative as an outlet for someone. Wether it be pouring out your thoughts or problems for people to see or just a way of copping and making you feel happy.

What do you think managers can do in the workplace to enhances people’s day and de stress?

I dont think managers necessarily have to do anything to enhance people’s lives. I think just giving people a good amount of time during the day to have a break and maybe providing the facilities / space for people to de-stress and recharge is good enough.

What inspires you?

Everything, everyone, places, other artists especially. Like when you go see a show and at the end all you want to do is go home, sit down and start doing whatever the form of art you do. Those are the best.

What would you say to someone who is suffering from anxiety or depression?

Knowing people who have depression and anxiety, I don’t think there is much you can say to them or do to help them. I think the most important thing you can do is just be there for them, be positive, give them some light suggestions that they can decide if they want to do or not (distraction always helps) and just try to be accepting of what they have.
